Megan McKee Shaffer is a licensed social worker with over 10 years of experience. She received her bachelor's in social work from Mount Vernon Nazarene University and her master's of education in intervention specialist from Case Western Reserve University. She recently worked in hospice to provide therapeutic intervention to families, individuals, and couples as they work through major life events. She has worked within the hospital systems for oncology, obstetrics, hospice, crisis, and as a case manager providing therapy for a range of complex needs. She believes in building relationships with clients and allowing a holistic therapeutic relationship to naturally occur. She uses different treatment modalities (such as mindfulness, strength-based, motivational interviewing, and CBT) that are individualized and tailored to each case. This empowers people to grow in their strengths with the support they deserve. She recognizes the difficult process of therapy can also produce some setbacks and stumbling blocks. However, those times of tribulation also empower and stimulate change and refocus. It is important to know that it takes great strength to seek therapy and now you will have an additional support system to assist you.
