Harmony is a Colorado native and highly-decorated Navy Veteran who served our nation honorably for 12 years and earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Norfolk State University in 2002 and her Masters of Science Nursing Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at The University of Colorado in 2012. “I have a passion for the underserved and for providing vital information to patients and families around health maintenance and wellness,” she said. She began her career as a Registered Nurse in a surgical step-down unit, delivering a complete range of RN services and expertise, including assessing individual conditions, selecting referrals for acute and chronically ill patients, and preparing equipment and assisting physicians during examinations and treatments. Harmony expanded her skills at a psychiatric center providing care for patients suffering from mental illnesses, monitoring substance detoxification, and providing care to adolescents and children. She provided direct care to individuals that were under temporary detention while awaiting court disposition and to those requiring rapid stabilization tranquilization. Her service includes manning a trauma team for mass casualties and evacuating patients to Landstuhl, Germany from Kuwait City. She was also an active deploying member of a Special Psychiatric Intervention Team, responding to Hurricane Katrina. As a Division Officer, Harmony served as a nurse manager for the only nurse-managed clinics in the U.S. Navy, greatly expanding its services. After relocating to Denver, Harmony became Director of Nursing at Mental Health Center of Denver, supervising all clinical nursing services within the agency. As an APRN, she provided direct psychiatric services through comprehensive evaluation, diagnoses, and treatment of consumers, prescribing and administering medications, and assisting consumers with medication management. Before joining Alleviant Health Centers of Denver, Harmony worked as a nurse practitioner at a private practice, then joined the University of Colorado Denver, providing psychiatric evaluation, planning, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric disorders. “From the leadership to the front lines, the Alleviant team is energized and passionate about connecting individuals with the health care services they need and desire,” she said. “I’m excited to work at Alleviant to help my patients get the care they need to live the lives they desire.”
