If you or a loved one suffers from a behavioral health disorder, we can help. UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital is a national leader in the cutting-edge treatment of mental health and addictive disorders. The Center for Interventional Psychiatry at UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital provides treatment options for neuropsychiatric disorders that require specialized care, particularly conditions that are non-responsive to usual treatment. At times, certain people do not see improvements with usual first-line treatments. These individuals may benefit from the interventional treatments that we offer. We are pleased to now offer two types of ketamine treatment — esketamine intranasal therapy (EsKIT) and ketamine infusion therapy (KIT). Each represents an exciting option for treatment-resistant depression. Both treatments are administered in a clinical setting. You will be carefully monitored during and after treatment to watch for any possible side effects. During your treatment, your blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen will be monitored.
