Michael Villanueva is a licensed Clinical Psychologist in California. He has worked as a professor at a university, providing research and clinical services on remote tribal lands, served as a combat clinical psychologist in Afghanistan, and implemented research with computational neuroscientists at UC San Diego on the effects of psychedelics on the human brain. Villanueva provides individual talk psychotherapy (including telehealth) and Neurotherapy in his office. He records and analyzes his clients’ EEG (i.e., brainwaves), which provides him with a personalized approach to neurofeedback training to address his clients’ symptoms. Villanueva also uses cognitive-behavioral methods, Jungian dream work, problem-solving skills, and insight-oriented conversation within this neurophysiological framework. Thus, in partnership with his clients, he will examine their internal and external assets, assess strengths and deficits, and set short-term goals.
